Tropical Smoothie Cafe Helps Kids Eat Their Vegetables
May 12, 2017
The “eat your vegetables” adage may be old, but the way kids are meeting their daily fruit and vegetable quotas is new, thanks to Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The brand’s chef, Lake Dawson, was recently featured on a Houston Life segment about how their smoothies help kids have healthier snacking habits without them even realizing it.
Depending on their age, kids need 1-3 cups per day of vegetables, but few seem to reach this goal. In the Houston area alone, only 50% of all kids are getting their daily intake. Vegetables contain essential nutrients that help kids to grow and avoid otherwise significant health consequences.
In the continuing battle of parents vs. kids, Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers parents an answer: delicious smoothies packed with fruit and vegetables. With a wide array of flavors, they have everything from the Totally Green with cucumber, green apple, kale, spinach, celery, and kiwi to the Avocolada made with avocado, pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut, and lime.
