Tropical Smoothie Cafe has experienced its strongest year yet. The top 50% of Franchise Owners are now boasting an average gross sales of $846,431, up $112,252 from 2014’s top 50% AUV of $734,179*. This upward momentum is helping the franchise open 1+ Cafes a week, with multi-unit sales growing to 30 last year.
“What’s driving our sales? First, we have both food and smoothies to drive up average tickets. Then product innovation, with successful roll-outs of new menu items like the Avocolada Smoothie and Super Grain Bowls. A strong national marketing program. And a focus on unit economics that strive to keep costs low for our Franchise Owners,” said Rotondo, CEO of Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
This year, the food and smoothie franchise plans to open 100 restaurants nationwide and currently has franchise opportunities across the U.S. in markets such as Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Columbus and Charlotte, N.C., among others. By 2018, Tropical Smoothie Cafe plans to have 800 stores open across the U.S.
